FiveM Guidelines
Standard FiveM Rules
Talking OOC (Out of character) is strictly prohibited within Overcast. You cannot use information gained from outside that realistically your in-character would have no knowledge of.
You are expected to remain in character during your playtime within Overcast at all times, both verbally and with the decisions you make during your active play-time.
Overcast is a roleplay FiveM server. Providing roleplay is imperative for your time within the server, meaning you must value and fear your life as if it was real life when placed in predicaments that initiates that form of roleplay. e.g: Hostile RP, appropriate driving of vehicles.
Attempting to actively sabotage another Overcast members game-play experience in Overcast with trolling/griefing & baiting is Prohibited.
Combat logging, committing suicide, logging out, disconnecting your PC from the internet or respawning to deter away from a RP interaction or consequence is prohibited.
In Character (IC) & Out Of Character (OOC)
IC
Interactions within the game play and roleplay scenes.
Following the rules and expectations of a roleplay server.
Ensuring all information obtained is through IC interactions/roleplay.
Maintaining behaviours consistent with your characters roleplay background including actions and speech.
OC
Referencing outside of roleplay information.
Speaking out of roleplay terms.
Bringing OOC problems/info IC.
Breaking other members immersion and is not part of the roleplay scene currently taking place.
Taking IC created issues/problems OC into involved player's personal direct messages.
Metagaming
Metagaming is reference to information told/received outside of IC roleplay that unfairly enhances your in city gaming experience. This is a serious breach of conduct within the Overcast server that is actioned severely. Overcast Staff accept no excuses as to why metagaming may have been used in any roleplay interaction/scene, you are to naturally roleplay your way in and out of interactions without OOC intercepting the RP scene/interaction. Examples of metagaming are as but not limited too that are prohibited:
You die during a scene and use discord message/voice call to tell your friend where your body is to be picked up and taken to hospital.
You have been kidnapped and participating hostile role-players have initiated all correct roleplay (removal of radio/phone) and taken you to a disclosed location. You cannot use discord message/voice call to call for hostile back up
Using outsourced information from external broadcasts to enhance your roleplay such as EG; Gang discord dog/crew tags to find out who has recently been removed or tagged to an org to initiate hostile roleplay. You wouldn't find out this information from a post in roleplay.
If you have multiple characters with different roleplay you cannot use the information you've gained on one character to benefit the other's roleplay experience. All roleplay characters are to be kept separate.
Power gaming
Power gaming is a serious breach within the Overcast server which is actioned accordingly. It refers to the misuse or unrealistic roleplay to gain advantage for your in-game play. Examples of Power gaming are as but not limited too that are prohibited:
Animations/emote cancelling: Using in-game emotes in unrealistic roleplay to give you an unfair advantage during conflicts, using emotes to carry/pass through walls. Using an emote to make your character seem to be dead when not.
Shift punching: Usage of shift while melee attacking another person
Hostages: Police cannot hand over any form of financial, weapon or illegal item in exchange for hostage welfare. Hostages welfare can be negotiated to leverages within roleplay such as preventing police entering a building, escaping advantages.
Forced Roleplay: Forcing a situation on another player without sufficient reasoning or the opportunity to have an adequate response to the roleplay: Stating someone is dead instantly or arrested without the support of roleplay.
Mechanical advantages: Using GTA/Server mechanics for the intent they are not used for or to provide yourself with an advantage in game this includes but not limited too: Holding your inventory open to prevent someone from robbing, using /ids for anything other then its intended use.
Voice ID: Interacting with an individual wearing a face covering, you are to identify them through alternative options instead of their voice. You can use multiple factors to incorporate the way you identify someone without Voice ID. Clothing, accessories, tattoo markings, type of vehicle they own/are in. Keeping in mind, some players manage multiple characters with different roleplay lives. If someone is unmasked and denies being the character you question them of, you are to move on.
Dead On Arrival (DOA): Initiating Dead on arrival to evade any form of police punishments from being involved in ANY illegal activity is strictly Prohibited. If you opt in for the DOA path, you will need to open a support ticket for admin approval. This means you will lose everything on that character.
Forceful Pull Of your Vehicle (Auto-Clicker): If you are found to be pulling a vehicle out of your garage when it is already out on IC you will be actioned with exploit and can face your vehicle being deleted from your garage
Reducing or adjusting in-game play settings: If you are found to be reducing your texture budget or any other settings within your GTA settings as a gaming enhancement you will be actioned with exploiting.
